Pine Ridge 06 - Pirates, oh no!

We have a team and are in the midst of planning the 2006 trip! I think this year we will do a pirate theme. The Pirates of the Caribbean 2 will be in theaters on July 7th and we leave on the 15th. SOOO, I'm thinking ... always a dangerous thing. I think we will do a "pirate" theme for the week.

Here is what the week may look like:

We will leave on Sat. July 15th and drive all day to somewhere in Iowa and spend the night. We will get up early Sun. morning and drive the rest of the way to the reservation, arriving sometime Sunday afternoon. We will unpack and get settled and probably attend church service that evening.

Monday morning will be work projects. Monday afternoon feed lunch to the kids and do VBS. Monday evening we hope to go to Wounded Knee.

Tuesday morning we will do work projects. Tuesday afternoon feed lunch to the kids and do VBS. Tuesday evening we will do a movie night at the church and will probably show Pirates of the Carribean 1 and have popcorn and just hang out with the kids.

Wednesday moring we will do work projects. Wed. afternoon we will feed lunch to the kids and do VBS. Wed. evening we will attend church and then take the teens into Martin for ice cream!

Thursday morning we will do work projects. Thurs. afternoon we will feed lunch to the kids and do VBS. Thurs. evening we will have a HUGE birthday party with a priate theme. We will have cupcakes and ice cream, games and prizes, pirate hats for all, fake mustaches for all, a treasure chest pinata and we will then do a treasure hunt for 10 very special prizes - a pass for 10 kids to go to the theater with us on Friday to see Pirates of the Carribean 2 at the theater and then have pizza afterwards.

Friday morning we will do work projects. Friday afternoon we will pick up the 10 kids who won the treasure and take them to the move and out for pizza. Then we will come home and crash!

Saturday is a sightseeing day. We will try to visit Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park and the Badlands. We will not stop at Rushmore but will wave to the presidents as we pass them.
